ABC VANCOUVER'S PRIORITIES

Delivering a Safer, More Affordable Vancouver

Over the last four years, Vancouver has made real progress.

Crime is down. Investments in core services are up. Our economy is growing. And City Hall is focused once again on delivering the basics that matter to residents.

But there is still more work to do. Let’s keep Vancouver moving forward.

PUBLIC SAFETY

We’re making Vancouver safer by:

  • Removing dangerous encampments from parks and public spaces.
  • Fully investing in police officers and mental health nurses.
  • Supporting vulnerable people in getting the help they need.
  • Standing up to harmful provincial policies that impact neighbourhood safety.
  • Continuing to fight for safer streets, parks, and communities.

AFFORDABILITY

We’re making Vancouver more affordable by:

  • Delivering a property tax freeze in 2026 and 2027.
  • Respecting your tax dollars and focusing on core services.
  • Expanding access to free swimming lessons for children.
  • Supporting policies that help families get ahead.
  • Protecting free, family-friendly events and community festivals city-wide.
  • Keeping future property tax increases tied to inflation.

CORE SERVICES

We’re getting back to basics by:

  • Investing a record $104 million in roads and sidewalks.
  • Rebuilding and renewing community centres across Vancouver.
  • Improving parks, pools, and recreation facilities.
  • Delivering the core services Vancouverites expect when they pay their taxes.
  • Focusing City Hall on the services people rely on every day.

STRONG ECONOMY

We’re building a stronger economy by:

  • Cutting red tape to support local businesses and job creation.
  • Helping restaurants and bars thrive with later operating hours.
  • Creating a vibrant entertainment district and downtown core.
  • Attracting new investments from major employers like Netflix, Microsoft, and Telus.
  • Supporting business improvement associations with community infrastructure investments.
