Matt Kroeker is running for Vancouver School Board Trustee with ABC Vancouver.

Matt is a father of three daughters, two of whom joined his family through international adoption, and all three currently attend public school in Vancouver.

Matt began his career as a certified teacher with the Vancouver School Board, giving him first-hand insight into the experiences of students, parents, and educators. He later earned an MBA from UBC with high academic standing and has continued his professional development through executive education at institutions including the University of Toronto, building on his education background with advanced training in leadership and strategy.

Professionally, Matt has spent more than a decade in senior leadership roles within the enterprise technology sector, guiding large-scale transformation initiatives for some of the world’s most prominent organizations. Matt’s career has sharpened his skills in strategic planning, budgeting, and stakeholder management. These capabilities will translate directly into effective, accountable School Board governance.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Education in Technology and Critical Thinking from the University of British Columbia.

For more than a decade, Matt has also volunteered in Canada and overseas with an international children’s charity supporting orphaned and at-risk children. That experience reinforced his belief that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves stability, opportunity, and the support to thrive. It is at the heart of why he is running for Vancouver School Board Trustee.

Matt is committed to ensuring every student has access to a safe, high-quality, and nurturing education. With first-hand classroom experience, executive leadership expertise, and a longstanding commitment to supporting children and families, he brings a practical and compassionate perspective to the Board. He is running to ensure Vancouver’s schools put students first and give every child the opportunity to succeed.
