Peter Meiszner is running for Vancouver city council with ABC Vancouver.

A resident of Vancouver since 2002, Peter has lived across several neighbourhoods including east Vancouver, Gastown, Yaletown and the West End, and is a passionate advocate for our city and the urban environment.

He is a Senior Digital Strategist at UBC and also worked in TV news as the first online news producer at Global BC, establishing the station’s popular social media accounts and training on-air personalities on how to use them.

He is an architecture buff, leading to a stint as the vice-chair of the Gastown Historic Area Planning Committee and writing about urban issues for the popular urbanism website, urbanYVR. He is passionate about tackling the housing and affordability crisis through innovative solutions, as well as cutting permit wait times and red tape to deliver the housing Vancouverites need.

As a downtown resident, Peter is active in the community, vocal about concerns around livability, community safety and caring for our most vulnerable residents.

As councillor, Peter will advocate for the concerns of Vancouverites from across the city, listening and taking action. He will be a strong advocate for downtown residents and businesses, focused on improving our neighbourhoods, ensuring public safety and creating vibrant public spaces that animate our city.

Peter lives in the West End and can often be found biking the seawall as well as enjoying a coffee on one of the neighbourhood’s many patios.
