ABC Vancouver Delivers on Promise to Create More Housing, Faster<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 12, 2025 \u2013 Vancouver, BC \u2013<\/strong> ABC Vancouver continues to take real action to make housing more affordable and get more homes built, faster. Yesterday, council approved a new mixed-use development on West 10th Ave. that will provide 571 rental units, with 20% below-market. They also approved a new rental building at Fraser St. & 29th<\/sup> Ave. and a new mass timber building that will be home to Ronald McDonald House with family-focused units to support sick kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cABC Vancouver has passed a transformative set of housing policies to address the housing shortage, provide diverse living options for families of all income levels and alleviate rising rent and home prices,\u201d says Jaime Stein, ABC Vancouver candidate for city council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ambitious 3-3-3-1 Permit Approval Framework<\/a> is eliminating backlogs, reducing red tape and cutting fees for affordable housing. The new framework has already sped up approvals for thousands of homes, cutting permitting times by 50-70% in many cases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
