Laura has lived and worked in Vancouver since 2014. She is a registered Professional Engineer and works as a civil engineer at a local consulting firm based in Gastown.

Laura regularly works with municipalities to help them assess, plan, and maintain their infrastructure. She brings this experience to the Park Board to better manage its complex assets; community centres, pools, rinks, and parks. Laura has practical experience designing for climate change and resilience, while striving to find solutions that are efficient and economically feasible.

Living with her husband in an apartment in the Grandview-Woodland neighbourhood, Laura understands that for many Vancourites like herself, parks are their backyard and only green space. Laura believes that parks are the foundations of our communities.

Her goal is for our parks and recreational facilities to be vibrant, inclusive, sustainable spaces that will be protected and maintained for generations to come.

In her free time, Laura raises and trains assistance dogs, and enjoys taking her puppies-in-training for walks on the seawall or to Trout Lake. She also volunteers as a high school tutor.
