Statement from Tung Chan (陳志動), Endorsing Ken Sim and ABC Vancouver

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 18, 2022

Vancouver – For those of you who know me, it’s great to connect again. And for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Tung Chan ( 陳志動).  I came to Canada from Hong Kong at the age of 22 and have built an incredible home and career right here in Vancouver.

I’ve had the pleasure of serving as the CEO of Success, the Board Chair of ECOMM 911, a Vice President at TD Bank, a board member of Kwantlen University, and in 1990 I was elected as a Vancouver City Councillor.

Getting elected to City Council in the early 90s as an immigrant was not easy.  Sure there was plenty of prejudice, but there were also really good people that lent me a hand along the way.

As I look to this upcoming election, and all the current challenges we face as Vancouverites, I think of everyone who has lent me a hand on my journey. Today, I am looking to all of you to band together once more to lend a hand, this time, to my friend, Ken Sim and the ABC Vancouver team.

The choice in this election is obvious. Ken Sim is the only person that can unite this city and lead us out of the many challenges we face today: affordability, public safety, and sustainability.  Ken has a serious plan of action and can deliver on all three.

That’s why today I am endorsing Ken Sim, and I am asking all of you to lend a hand to his campaign.

I have known Ken Sim for many years. He is a great businessman and outstanding community leader.  He has also been a great friend to me and our community.

So, join me today in lending a hand to Ken and ABC Vancouver.
